SMTP means simple mail transfer protocol and POP post office protocol. Both POP and SMTP are two protocols which help in both sending and receiving mail. This helps the user to send mail from any location. SMTP is used to send the message and deliver it whereas POP is used to pick up the message and then deliver it to the reader.
